How to Find My Old Gmail account

Many of us simply have too many online accounts to manage (or even remember!) on a daily basis. You may already have multiple email accounts, especially if you’re required to have a professional email address separate from your personal account. If you haven’t used one of your email accounts in a long time, you should close it. However, if you have forgotten the exact name of the address in question, you may run into problems. Fortunately, Google provides useful recovery options for users of their email service. Keeping this in mind, you should be able to easily recover old Gmail account information.

Gmail Account Recovery Fundamentals
Whether you like it or not, Google keeps extensive records on each of its users. Although this can be annoying or problematic at times, it can be invaluable when trying to gain access to an old account. To begin the recovery process, go to the Google Account Recovery page, which can be accessed by going to the standard Gmail Sign-in page and then clicking “Forgot email?” The first thing you’ll be asked for when you arrive at the page is your email address or phone number. Because you don’t know your email address, click the “Forgot email?” link at the bottom of the page.

You’ll be redirected to a new page that asks for your phone number or recovery email at this point. If you specified a phone number or a separate email address as part of your recovery options when you created your Gmail account, you can enter it here. After you enter your phone number or email address, you will be prompted to enter your full name. Google may now implement one of several security features, such as texting a security PIN to the phone number you have on file or emailing a security code to the recovery address you provided. These security protocols will help ensure that no one other than you has access to your account.

Developing a New Password

After you provide this information and your identity is verified, Google will give you the option of regaining access to your account by creating a new password. You can continue to use this email account for the time being. If closing the account is a better option for you, you can do so.

Whatever your preferences are, it’s critical to remember that you should set up a recovery option for any email account you set up through Google. If you lose access to your account for any reason, these recovery tools can assist you in restoring access as soon as possible.
